Shanahan Real Estate was created in 2007 when Nan Shanahan had to make some choices as to where her career was going in real estate. With twenty successful years in the business, it seemed to be the time for change with a vision of an office that was based on personal relationships and superior service and established on her reputation. The decision was made.
Being born and raised in Winchester MA, the last of seven children and married to her high school sweetheart, Nan entered the real estate market with strong ties to the community. Over the years, she has been actively involved in Winchester organizations and events, along with raising her three children.
So a planned family vacation on the Cape became a work session of naming the company, choosing colors and selecting the pineapple (a well known sign of hospitality) as a logo. By the first week, the company already had a listing and the signs had been ordered. Vacant space that needed work became available on Thompson Street. The new office took shape as wallpaper and furniture arrived shortly thereafter. Several reputable professionals joined the group and the company began. Despite a challenging market, Shanahan Real Estate Group was successful. Shanahan Real Estate Group was able to be selective in putting together a team of professionals who know the local area and have high standards and practices.
Ongoing training and education and participation in the community are required of all agents. Shanahan Real Estate Group has also been selected to be an exclusive member of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, the world’s largest relocation company. This affiliation allows Shanahan Real Estate Group to offer a wide range of services across the globe, while maintaining the flexibility and service of an independent company.
It has been a while since the days at the Cape putting together a business within a few short weeks, but hard work and laughter have made Shanahan Real Estate a great place to be.
